In the wake of "Sweet Revenge", Starsky and Hutch go undercover on California's Catalina Island, giving Starsky a chance to shine as he regains his stride and self-confidence while working the case. Hutch, who finds it hard to let go, discovers that his partner is back -- and better than ever.

"I gotta stop getting stuck on a cheap date with you!"

They both laughed while giving each other quite the look. It was starting to feel this way, on a date, always together, since the shooting, the recovery, and now the return to the force. But it felt good, to always be in the same space, it was just natural. They didn't need anyone else.

But that didn't mean a pretty girl didn't turn their heads. It was just that there never seemed to be two ladies both interested at the same time, and who wanted to separate and leave the other one alone?

"Certain mendacity" can sometimes be inevitable, especially when their relationship is the target...

A brief interlude in the life of S&H.

When Hutch is injured, Starsky tries to find a way to let him know how he really feels.

In a place filled with deep silences, Hutch tends to a secret.

Hutch closed his eyes. "It's a fucked up world, Starsk, when you can't even put the name to a different kind of love."

Starsky's apartment was neat and clean as always, but had a "nobody's living here now" feeling. There was a note, of course, and Hutch knew it would be addressed to him. A satchel was missing and a fair amount of clothing, Starsky's leather jacket and some of his personal things that he kept in a box on his dresser. The pictures, one of the two of them and the one of Terry, were missing from his nightstand. The most chilling thing, to Hutch, was to find Starsky's badge and gun, along with the holster, on the back of the closet door.

Hutch receives a care package from his mother.

Starsky and Hutch realize their growing attraction to one another, and explore how to move their relationship forward as it blossoms from friendship into love.

As Hutch prepares for battle, he searches for strength within and finds it in a pivotal memory and in his fierce love for his partner.

In the aftermath of the Marianne Owens case, Starsky and Hutch aren't in synch. Huggy has a unique idea for patching up the partnership, but will the results exceed his expectations?

To me, the most important part of STARSKY AND HUTCH was watching the relationship evolve from the pilot movie through the fourth season. This zine is an attempt to show one way that evolvement might have come about.

Hutch goes quiet and Starsky tries to break him.

The years have passed, but Starsky and Hutch's friendship is stronger than ever. Unfortunately, their enemies have also gained strength fueled by manic revenge.

He was nervous--stomach aquiver, hands shaking; and determined--smile in place... He stopped outside the squadroom, staring through the glass doors...

"You takin' tickets or somethin'?"

He whirled, coming face-to-face with a pair of impatient blue eyes. "Oh, no...I...I'm sorry." He stepped away from the doors, and the dark-haired man brushed past him, an exasperated look on his face.

"You'll have to excuse him. Had a bad night. Can I help you? I'm Sgt. Hutchinson."

He looked into another pair of blue eyes, lighter than the first and much friendlier. Hutchinson? He glanced through the glass again, finding the other man seated on the far end of one table... Starsky? Starsky and Hutch-- He beamed at the blond cop and extended his hand. "Richard Ashley, new man."

Hutchinson's handshake was firm and welcoming. "Glad to meet you. First day?"

Hutch has been missing for three days.

Starsky and Hutch's new, committed relationship takes a dive when Starsky is unexpectedly injured.

Companion piece to Coming Around Again.

Hutch was sleeping -- finally -- in the middle of the bed. A first. Usually when Hutch crashed here, he took the sofa. But when your best friend's marriage breaks up, you give him your bed. Ha! Don't you just wish? Starsky watched the man for a few minutes, then lightly touched the deep scratches on the pale face. Hutch rolled away.

A two-part invention.

This was the forth sunrise that I counted since Belamey gave Starsky a lethal dose of a poison that was meant to take his life.

Hutch is there for Starsky--sort of--as Starsky frantically tries to meet an important deadline.

“And do not point that thing at me!” shouted Starsky.

 “What thing?” yelled Hutch.

 Starsky slapped at Hutch’s raised right index finger.  “Your goddam HutchFinger!” he bellowed.

"You're damn lucky I don't point my Magnum at you!" roared Hutch.

Starsky is looking with his emotions rather than the stark honesty of his camera lens.

After a minute Davey dried his tears and asked his uncle, "Do you think Dad is still alive?" Starsky knew deep inside that, yes, his partner was alive. He knew he would feel it if he was dead. Starsky said, "I don't know how I know, but I know he is. I can feel it. What do you feel?" Davey look up and replied, "I would know if he was gone like Mom. I know he is alive, Uncle Dave, I don't know why or how either but I know he is."  Then he added, "I just thought that he'd be found before..." He didn't finish his sentence.
